I was also interested in seeing a recipe for suan la chow show. I found out that it is actually an appetizer not a soup.If it helps, here is a recipe that is trying to duplicate the recipe from Mary Chung's in Cambridge. Maybe you have time to refine it.
Sauce- 1/16 tsp. garlic powder
1 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tsp. rice vinegar
1/16 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. hot pepper flakes in oil(1:1)
place a bed of beansprouts in a bowl, add wontons, pour sauce over the wontons and garnish with chopped scallions.
