NATIONAL HONEY MONTH BUZZ: HONEY.COM HAS A BOLD NEW LOOK

Longmont CO (September 2006)—When it comes to technology, the National Honey Board (NHB) knows while honey users value honey’s pure, natural and elemental qualities, they want simplicity and speed when it comes to accessing honey information and recipes.   In response to a directive to streamline online communications, the Honey Board’s Web site honey.com underwent a year-long redesign, emerging for National Honey Month 2006 with an updated and bold new look.

“Every category of honey customer—consumer, foodservice and food technology—will benefit from our new design and site improvements,” enthuses Jami Yanoski, NHB Marketing Manager.   “By combining our public and industry sites and upgrading navigation to optimize mobility and penetration, we look forward to attracting more visitors to the site.”

New enhancements added to honey.com include:

• Improved interface with much easier navigation

• Merging of consumer website (honey.com) and the honey industry website (nhb.org). Allows easier access to features of interest to both groups.

• Presentation of information to four distinct audiences (consumers, trade, honey industry and media) by means of color-coded tabs.

• Apply for recipe and industry newsletter subscriptions from anywhere on the website.

• Simple, comprehensive search feature available on every page.

• Updated content.

• New FAQ section and online form to submit questions.

• Downloadable files of Honey Board culinary education module and food ingredient abstracts.

For more information about the honey.com redesign, contact Jami Yanoski at jami@nhb.org, or make a virtual visit to honey. com.
