WHY:
In the wake of the recent national E. coli breakout from spinach, the committee held the hearing to better understand the issue of food safety and the industry’s perspective regarding food safety. The hearing was timely as the Senate ponders the Agriculture Appropriations Bill, currently on the Senate floor.
