Australian Celebrity Chefs head to America
Australian Celebrity chefs,
Vic Cherikoff
and
Benjamin Christie
will be heading to America from the 19th of January 2007 for an array of meetings, trade shows, appearances and interviews.
New Products seeking distribution and retail uptake.
Both Vic and Benjamin will be attending the Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco from 21st to the 23rd January endorsing and showcasing a selected range of authentic Australian retail products which will be launched in the USA in 2007. The range includes his newly licensed, Vic Cherikoff Downunder brand of sauces, infused oils and Hot SheetsT.
Additionally, Vic's own range of Vic Cherikoff Essence of AustraliaT seasonings, his new Wattleseed paste and SmokeboardsT will also be showcased along with Rainforest Mist, his functional water spray.
Unlike most product launches by specialty food manufacturers, the Vic Cherikoff, Essence of AustraliaT range is supported by its own television cooking show, Dining DownunderT ( www.dining-downunder.com ) which is about to air across North America early in 2007 and coinciding with the products appearing in store. However, on-line sales have already preceded the bricks and mortar retail penetration with 2006 Xmas sales setting all-time records. One order even went out to a gourmand in Alaska although an outdoor BBQ lunch was probably not a part of the Xmas celebrations.
Next stop New York for sponsorship support
After the Winter Fancy Food Show, Vic and Benjamin have numerous meetings in New York with retailers, distributors, restaurateurs and chefs and pre-production workshops for their new TV show, the Upside Down KitchenT. With Australian companies onbaord already, the Executive Producers are now turning to American companies for increased association of products with spokespeople.
After New York and into February, the chefs will head to Los Angeles to conduct Australian cooking demonstrations at various trade events and chef's warehouses. Time to also catch up with chefs in some of the new Australian restaurants proliferating on the West Coast.
During their American visit, the chefs will be available for interviews (particularly on Australia Day, 26th January) to discuss their US retail invasion, either of their TV cooking shows, sponsorship opportunities (business magazines) or more intimate discussions on the ingredients themselves and our developing Australian cuisine.
