ORLANDO, FL (March 20, 2007) - Mary Bentley, president of the Women’s Foodservice Forum, recently led an interactive breakout session at the 2007 COEX Conference in Orlando, FL.  The session, Driving Results Through Gender Diversity, discussed independent research conducted by Catalyst and the Gallup Organization that identified the organizational impact of gender-diverse teams on productivity, retention and quality of work. The study revealed that companies with the highest representation of women in top management have experienced better financial performance than companies with the lowest women’s representation.

When work teams are balanced 50/50 all members are more engaged, resulting in greater productivity, retention and quality of work. According to the US Department of Labor, women are now graduating from college at a higher rate than men , and women who enter college are more likely to graduate than men.  Additionally, a Gallup survey revealed that women overall are more engaged than their male counterparts.  Hence, the female talent pool is more critical than ever to organizations committed to hiring and retaining the best talent.
