WOMEN’S FOODSERVICE FORUM (WFF)
FEATURES NEW BUSINESS BUILDER WORKSHOP AT THE NRA SHOW

Compelling New Industry Research Revealed
Key Insights Shared for Improving Business with a Gender Balanced Team

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (April 12, 2007) – Measuring and improving a company’s bottom line is critical to the profitable sustainability of an organization.  While recruiting and retaining talent is key, it is just as important to develop the right team mix. Catalyst research shows that companies overall perform better and are more profitable when they develop gender balanced teams. The business case is strong, but the question for many remains: how do we get there?

The Women’s Foodservice Forum’s (WFF) new business builder workshop at the NRA Show will answer these all-important questions and more.  Led by Luke Visconti, partner and co-founder of DiversityInc, and Mary Bentley, president of WFF, “Diverse Leadership Development: Improving Your Business with a Gender Balanced Team” will be held on Sunday, May 20th from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the McCormick Place convention center in Chicago.

This insightful, content rich workshop will reveal brand new groundbreaking research commissioned by WFF in a partnership with DiversityInc.  The study identifies key segments of foodservice where women currently have the largest representation. The research also reveals the segments that are proactively recruiting more women and building a diverse talent pool pipeline where women will have a greater opportunity to advance within their organization.  From these findings, Mr. Visconti will effectively pinpoint areas of strength and opportunity for diversity going forward and will demonstrate how to effectively develop this roadmap for future gender diversity planning.

“WFF is proud to partner with such a well respected company for this research project,” said Mary Bentley, WFF president.  “DiversityInc is a natural partner for WFF as both organizations share the same passion and support for achieving gender balance and diversity. As the premier leadership development organization dedicated to elevating women leaders, we are thrilled to continue to offer cutting edge research that can further educate foodservice companies and provide the tools necessary to help move the industry forward.”

DiversityInc is a monthly publication with editorial focusing on diversity issues and the bottom line. Founded in 1998, DiversityInc.com serves over 1.3 million sessions, receives 370,000 unique monthly visitors and over 165,000 people receive their daily email newsletter. DiversityInc magazine has a circulation of 150,000.

In addition, the WFF will hold its Annual Leadership Luncheon at the NRA Show on May 21st from 11:45 am - 2:15 pm at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place. The luncheon will feature a dynamic keynote address by Marilyn Carlson Nelson, chairman and CEO of Carlson Companies. It will also include a special presentation of the highly coveted SOAR Award, which recognizes a foodservice corporation that champions gender balance and diversity. WFF will also have a booth on the NRA Show floor to inform current and new members about the new Executive Track programming, sponsorship opportunities and exclusive events. Be sure to stop by booth #5005 for more information.
