1st INTERNATIONAL ALBACORE TUNA RECIPE COMPETITION which begins

Wild-Sustainable-Safe-Nutritious Albacore Tuna.
The ever-increasing awareness by consumers of issues related to sustainability, management, nutrition, and product safety has led many to re-examine their consumption of fish and seafood products as a positive alternative to other sources of protein.
BC ALBACORE
TUNA (
Thunnus alalunga), to which many people will attest is a spectacular and special seafood product, forms the basis of a moderate fishery on the Pacific Coast of Canada. Albacore tuna itself is a unique product and the attributes that make this fish desirable also presents the fishermen and chef with unique challenges.
BC Albacore is documented as a sustainable fishery, uses barbless hooks, tests amongst the lowest in the world in Mercury, and highest in Omega 3. BC Albacore is a recognized sustainable fishery under the
OCEAN WISE PROGRAM and is also a recognized and licensed
HEALTH CHECK product of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
